Speaker 1:

Tell us who you are.

Charmaine Payeso:

My name is Charmaine [Payeso 00:00:04].

Speaker 1:

Okay, and then Charmaine, why are you here?

Charmaine Payeso:

I am here for TMJ Botox, and I've been having so much pain every night. I've been grinding my teeth, and I wake up. It's been very painful.

Speaker 1:

Now, this has been going on for how many months, do you think?

Charmaine Payeso:

It's been going on for I would say five months.

Speaker 1:

Five months. And you saw your dentist, and he gave you a mouth guard. Is that right? Did it help at all, or not really?

Charmaine Payeso:

It didn't really help, so I still have the same problem every time I wake up.

Speaker 1:

Now, we have pain on a one-to-10 scale. So 10 is the worst pain you can imagine, and one is just a little teeny tap. So your pain was really bad. Was it a couple weeks ago we injected you? And on a one-to-10, how bad was the pain? And show us where the pain was.

Charmaine Payeso:

The pain is right here. So it was eight out of 10.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, eight out of 10? So it was almost more than you could stand? The worst, horrendous?

Charmaine Payeso:

It's really bad. I can't even do anything at my work, at the house.

Speaker 1:

Was it right side, left side, or both sides?

Charmaine Payeso:

Both sides.

Speaker 1:

And then was it all the time or only when you were chewing?

Charmaine Payeso:

All the time.

Speaker 1:

Really? Constantly that bad?

Charmaine Payeso:

Really.

Speaker 1:

And was it worse at night, when you were grinding, or in the morning when you woke up, or not really?

Charmaine Payeso:

When I wake up, it was worse.

Speaker 1:

Because you were grinding all night, probably?

Charmaine Payeso:

Yes, I was grinding all night.

Speaker 1:

Now, the TMJ, if you could point to it, did you say you had a headache shooting? Can you show us where?

Charmaine Payeso:

Yeah, so TMJ, I've been having problem right here. Painful, eight. And then shooting headache right here. It's nine out of 10.

Speaker 1:

So the pain started in the jaw, and it would shoot up to your head?

Charmaine Payeso:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

And it went from eight out of 10 to nine out of 10?

Charmaine Payeso:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

So almost the worst pain you could ever imagine?

Charmaine Payeso:

Yes, and I've been taking pain pills, and it helped for a couple hours, and it went back again.

Speaker 1:

Oh, okay. Well, so this is something very common. We have a lot of people that they clench their teeth or they grind their teeth. And the joint here is called the TMJ temporopmandibular joint. And you wear out the joint after a while, and sometimes, you need oral surgery when you wear it out, like you wear out a tire. Big surgery.

Speaker 1:

And then the bad part is, it shoots up to your head, and it's like the worst migraine you can have. It's horrible, and yours was all the time. So people don't realize. We did Botox in your TMJ joints, and actually, it's called the masseter muscle, the muscle that connects it to that. And since we've done it, your pain has gone from eight out of 10 here to the TMJ. What number is it now?

Charmaine Payeso:

It's zero. It's actually a lot better now, so that's why I'm here. I'm happy, and I was able to do work.

Speaker 1:

And you're like a normal person now?

Charmaine Payeso:

Yes, normal person.

Speaker 1:

So you went from an eight out of 10 in the TMJ, with a masseter injection. And then the headache was a nine out of 10. What number is your headache now?

Charmaine Payeso:

It's zero, as well. Yeah, it's totally gone, after one week.

Speaker 1:

Okay. Well, we injected you, and would you recommend this to other people that have TMJ or clenching or hitting?

Charmaine Payeso:

Definitely, definitely. For those who have TMJ problem, I think this is really the resolution for it.

Speaker 1:

Okay. Well, thank you so much. We appreciate you. She was nice enough to tell other people that there's hope, if you have TMJ or clenching or really bad headaches. And a lot of people are too shy to talk about it, so thank you very much. We appreciate it.

Charmaine Payeso:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

Okay, good.
