About Chemical Peels

Offering the best in chemical peel aesthetic treatments, Look Younger MD provides patients with multiple options for a medical-grade facial treatment with chemical solutions (such as glycolic, salicylic, lactic, and trichloroacetic acids), including Jessner and VI Peels, that give you healthier, more radiant skin on the face. At our Las Vegas, NV area office, Dr. Garry Lee and our medical aesthetician offer chemical peel treatments that help to remove skin flaws including fine lines, wrinkles, scars, uneven patches, hyperpigmentation issues, and more. Chemical peels eliminate dead or damaged skin cells by using a specific solution on your skin, which causes the oldest layer to peel off. As your skin heals and begins to rejuvenate and repair itself, you should notice a clearer, smoother complexion. A chemical peel treatment is a noninvasive procedure to make your skin bright and may be appropriate for the face, neck, and décollatage.

Variations of Chemical Peels

At our Las Vegas, NV area office, we provide medical-grade chemical peels in a few levels (light, medium, and deep) to fit our patients' skin care concerns and goals.

Light peels: You can have a light chemical peel on your lunch break and get back to your day. This strength of peel will remove the top layer of skin (the epidermis), giving your complexion a brighter appearance and softer texture. We typically suggest that you get a light treatment at each facial, for the best glowing results.

Medium-depth peels: This strength of chemical peel penetrates deeper into your skin, and you'll usually prefer to do this level of facial rejuvenation treatment over a long weekend.  Medium-depth peels are best for patients who have significant damage to their skin such as wrinkles, texture and hyperpigmentation issues.

Deep peels: The most advanced of the three types of chemical peels is the deep peel treatment, and it will require recovery time of 1 week. This is an aggressive cosmetic treatment for clients who have hyperpigmentation, sun-damaged skin, or significant acne scars.

VI Peels

Along with other medical-grade chemical peels, our medical aesthetician, Judi, provides VI Peels that work to treat specific skin concerns. The two VI Peels we offer include:

  • VI Peel with Precision Plus (for sun spots and pigmentation)
  • VI Peel PURIFY with Precision Plus (for acne scars and skin damage)

During a consultation at Look Younger MD, Judi will be able to recommend the best treatment for your unique skin needs and desired goals.

Ideal Candidates

Receiving the suggestions of an aesthetic professional is the first step in the journey to healthier skin. Our medical aesthetician, Judi Rush, at Look Younger MD can assess your skin in a consultation in our Las Vegas, NV area office before choosing a chemical peel treatment for ideal results. Chemical peel candidates, of both genders, typically have noticeable concerns with their skin like texture, pore size, uneven pigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles. We will suggest multiple types of chemical peels to fit your needs and concerns.

What to Expect

Depending on the level of the peel you choose, you can expect the face to itch and peel for a few days. Our medical aesthetician will give instructions on methods to care for your skin during your consultation. Please keep in mind that no matter how much your skin itches during the post-treatment process, it is never helpful to peel the skin off yourself. Judi offers a complimentary mini-facial to compare your results.
